If you’re a fan of the NYBB and NCBB you can make a real difference by becoming a Friend. This is an organisation set up for the mutual benefit of its members and of the two bands it supports. Membership is open to anyone.
For just over fifty pence a week, you can help keep brass band music alive and give Britain's most talented young musicians an amazing opportunity to take their talent to new frontiers. Your contribution will not only help to develop a new generation of brass players and percussionists; it will also enable us to connect with young people nationwide. If you are a UK taxpayer boost your donation by signing a Gift Aid declaration. The Government will then refund 25p for each £1 donated e.g. £30 becomes £37.50. Please ask for details.
With no direct government funding, we hugely value the kindness of people like you. In return for your friendship we are pleased to show our gratitude through a variety of benefits that will bring you closer to the bands.
For around fifty pence a week:
£30 pays for subsidised travel to auditions enabling any young person with talent, regardless of their background to apply for a place in the band.
£30 pays for additional music needed for use in the specialist sectional rehearsals.
For around a pound a week you will get all the benefits of being a Friend plus:
£60 pays for an entire set of brass band music for the Bands to use during their course.
£72 pays for the hire of an audition venue for a day, allowing us to meet exceptional players across the country.
For less than £2.50 a week you will get all the benefits of being a Silver Friend plus:
£120 pays for a fantastic guest instrumentalist or composer to share their expertise with the band through a master class or workshop.
£180 pays for almost two days of tuition from the world class musicians who comprise the Bands’ inspirational teaching team.
